My Wife Didn’t Cook” offers comfort food in historic Rafael Building
[New Britain, CT - March 2, 2019] - Jasko Development, LLC announces the leasing of home-style restaurant space in the historic Rafael Building. Catering to the “grab and go” clientele, the new venture will offer tables for those that prefer to dine-in.
The restaurant is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Delvone Tanksley Sr. and Jacquelin Tanksley, and the menu will feature wings, drumsticks, seafood, shrimp, comfort food staples and salads. Service hours for the new food venture will be Tuesdays through Thursdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The restaurant will be closed on Mondays.
Mr.Tanksley Sr. is the owner of the neighboring DMTS Radio which has also found success in Jasko’s Rafael Building at 105B West Main Street.
The Renovation of the 29,000 SF Raphael Building was completed by Jasko Development, LLC in 2017. The final steps in a two phased rehabilitation project being the successful conversion of 14,900 SF of abandoned office space into sixteen luxury apartments over the eight street-level retail spaces.. The Rafael Building project is the third historic reclamation project successfully completed in New Britain by Jasko Development. The 2005 refurbishing of the nearby Andrews Building and the Rao Building in 2008, have created viable mixed-use properties in historic downtown buildings that were once derelict. All three buildings now occupy prominent positions in the thriving downtown New Britain.
The Rafael Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Buildings in 2016.
