Jasko Development, LLC, the New Britain, CT based real estate developer has purchased the 14,500 sf former Sid Miller’s Appliance building at 10 Jolley Drive, Bloomfield, CT with plans to convert the 12,600 sf appliance retail space into a high-presence medical facility. Over the past 5 years, Jasko has constructed a dozen such medical/dental facilities for tenants such as AFC Urgent Care, Columbia Dental, Charter Oak Dental and others.
Leases have been extended for the long-term tenant, John Boyle Decorating Center, to remain in the adjoining retail space. Jasko purchased the 1.56 acre property in December of 2018. Construction will commence in the summer of 2019, with completion of the extensive renovation project expected to be complete in spring of 2020.
Avner Krohn, CEO of Jasko Development, LLC says that aside from the construction requirements of medical tenants, comprehensive plans have been approved for the doubling of parking spaces, complete site work that includes extensive wetlands drainage work, and adding dimension to the buildings’ exterior façade with new glazing and recladding.
Built in 1988, the highly visible property has frontal visibility and easy access to the heavily trafficked Cottage Grove Road (Route 218) which has a traffic count of 27,600 cars daily. There are over 140,000 sf of medical office space within a mile, and 500 luxury apartments in various stages of development in the area. Nearby, major retailers Home Depot, Lowes, Stop & Shop, Burlington Coat Factory, Boston Market, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, and Gamestop contribute to the healthy retail environment.
