Avner Krohn, one of the most active developers in downtown New Britain in recent years, is proposing to build a 111-unit multi-family housing development on vacant Bloomfield land.

Jasko Development, LLC, the New Britain, CT based real estate developer has purchased the 14,500 sf former Sid Miller’s Appliance building at 10 Jolley Drive, Bloomfield, CT with plans to convert the 12,600 sf appliance retail space into a high-presence medical facility. Over the past 5 years, Jasko has constructed a dozen such medical/dental facilities for tenants such as AFC Urgent Care, Columbia Dental, Charter Oak Dental and others.

Twenty one-bedroom apartments and space for two or three bars or restaurants will be available after the restoration of the historic Andrews Building, Mayor Erin Stewart and Jasko Development have announced.

The restoration by Jasko is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2020.

This project is a way of meeting the growing demand for housing in downtown New Britain, according to Avner Krohn, CEO of Jasko Development.

Downtown New Britain will add 20 more apartments through landlord Avner Krohn's planned makeover of one of his center-city properties.

Developer Avner Krohn is doubling down on his bet that there’s rising demand for apartments in downtown New Britain. Krohn, whose company converted the Raphael Building into housing in 2017, announced this week that he’ll turn four floors of the five-story Andrews Building into apartments.

Krohn’s Jasko Development plans to remodel the Andrews into 20 one-bedroom units by early next spring. Krohn said they will feature high-end detailing but will rent for 20 to 30 percent less than similar apartments in Hartford or nearby suburbs. His company has performed somewhat similar conversions of the Raphael Building at 99 Main St. and the Rao Building at 160 Main St.

Jasko Development, LLC announces the ground-up construction and leasing of a 3,230 SF American Family Care Urgent Care medical center at 1171 East Main Street in Torrington Connecticut. The facility includes eight exam rooms, a procedure room, a dedicated X-ray room, and ample parking on .50 acres.

The Jasko Development Build-To-Suit project was completed in 18 weeks, from groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting.

The two-building complex consists of a 2,992 SF, one-story, Columbia Dental Office and a six-occupant, 8,308 SF retail strip plaza with additional separate storage units located in the rear.

Business leaders cite the CTfastrak rapid bus system, transit-oriented developments and pedestrian-friendly streets as signs of a nascent, but visible rebirth. They also credit Avner Krohn, a 35-year-old developer from Long Island.

Though Krohn's company, Jasko Development, owns multiple properties in Connecticut and New Jersey, his five buildings in New Britain cover over 100,000 square feet worth more than $10 million.
